DER NUSSKNACKER

THE NUTCRACKER   2026/2027 Tour

Ballet with Orchestra

Christmas magic and enchantment, colorful folklore and delicate puppetry, a playful snowflake waltz and elegant ballroom dancing: few ballets contain so many diverse yet delightful elements. This is “The Nutcracker,” as it premiered in 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in snow-covered Saint Petersburg.

Lavish stage sets and the magnificent music of Peter I. Tchaikovsky, performed live by an outstanding orchestra, will delight and transport you: into the dream world of the young girl Clara, who is on the threshold of adulthood. A nighttime battle with mice and the coming to life of all the toys are part of the adventure.

And then comes the charming prince, who emerges from the wooden nutcracker at night! He is a symbol of youthful strength, yet as vulnerable as a tin soldier. On Christmas Eve, Clara helps him defeat the grotesque mice. In gratitude, the young man travels with her to the realm of magic.

There, cheerful and exotic adventures await the two of them. It is almost a dance-filled journey around the world. How will this fairy tale end—with a wedding or with Clara’s awakening? You and your family will have to discover that for yourselves.

Because this ballet fairy tale belongs in every sheltered childhood. Show it to your children so that their love for the gentle yet dynamic art of classical dance is not lost. Young people, in particular, are so easily enchanted by it.

Silk bows, pointe work, split jumps: there is plenty to see and marvel at. The overall production, rich in detail and featuring virtuoso acrobatic dance in the style of Marius Petipa, will never disappoint. It is spectacular.
Let’s head into the magical realm of the Nutcracker and his friends!

Suitable for children ages 6 and up.
