The king among the Johanns
JOHANN KÖNIG - TODAY A KING
Johann König, the depressive mood-maker from Cologne, is going on tour again in 2027. And he's more hopeful, cheerful and passionate than ever before!
His new live show is an unvarnished reflection of his domestic situation – and we know that Johann comes from a difficult background. His cat Hekto-Pascal is overweight, his wife suffers from food intolerance – and all three children are still of school age.
But the king among the Johanns is a master at turning the ensuing family madness into something else. Into the opposite. Into wise, crazy and wonderful waves of words. Into brilliant songs and golden poems. His method is no secret. Like lightning, this lucky guy rubs wit and brains together, igniting a thunderous fireworks display of synapses that continues to sparkle and crackle days later. His devoted modesty and selfless dedication to his audience work to his advantage. Instead of ascending to the throne himself, he crowns the fun. Whatever.
Johann König's humour is like whipped cream on a freshly tapped Pilsner. Somewhat treacherous, but always funny. And everyone can feel like a king – find out exactly how in ‘Heute ein König’ (A King for a Day).
