HORIZONS - Off to new horizons with Holiday on Ice!

Dortmund, September 23, 2024 - HOLIDAY ON ICE, that's over 80 years of fantastic success and magic. And it continues in 2024/2025 - with the production HORIZONS. Under the motto “Feel the City Beat”, HORIZONS takes the audience into an urban, magical world full of energy and fascination. The show combines proven top performances in figure skating with breathtaking acrobatics, innovative technology and a new, dynamic story that makes the pulse of the city palpable. Light, sound and movement merge to create an unforgettable experience that inspires all generations. In the 2024/25 season, Sasha will literally melt the audience away with his performance.

SASHA ROCKS THE ICE STAGE

Under the motto “Feel the City Beat”, HOLIDAY ON ICE transports the audience into a magical world where the most diverse people come together. A special highlight of this season's show is the guest appearance by Sasha. The entertainer will rock the ice stage at the premiere in Dortmund on 17 January, and his personality and style are perfectly suited to the atmosphere of HORIZONS. With his extraordinary show appearance at HOLIDAY ON ICE, Sasha creates a combination of music and figure skating that will captivate people of all generations. With well-known hits and his unmistakable charisma, the entertainer will make the ice stage shake, captivate the audience and create a great community experience that will stay with them.

The magic continues: With the spectacular show HORIZONS, a new chapter of HOLIDAY ON ICE, the most successful ice show in the world, begins this year. After the grandiose 80th anniversary, the next highlight now follows. Under the motto "Feel the City Beat!", HORIZONS captivates the audience with the energy, movement and sound of a pulsating metropolis. The new show tells of the diversity and fascination of a vibrant metropolis - and above all the people who make it what it is. It brings the unique urban spirit to life in an unforgettable live experience on ice. From November 13, 2024 to April 27, 2025, HORIZONS will thrill audiences in 22 German cities.

HORIZONS brings the exciting atmosphere of the big city to life and invites the audience to discover it with all its fascinating places and people. The show is an invitation to explore the unique dynamics and diversity of urban life. In an impressive production of world-class figure skating and acrobatics, HORIZONS captures the energy, the rhythms and the urban vibe and takes the audience on an unforgettable journey through the multifaceted world of a vibrant metropolis. From the glitter of the city lights to the secret corners known only to its inhabitants, HORIZONS is a kaleidoscope of the city full of emotion and adventure. At the heart of the show are the people who bring the city to life. A wide variety of characters meet in different places and tell their captivating stories through music and movement. The audience experiences how these diverse personalities shape the city and transform it into a place full of magic. At the end of this exciting journey, everyone will find their place in this vibrant metropolis. HORIZONS thus becomes an unforgettable community experience for all generations. "The new season also impresses with lots of magic, breathtaking costume worlds and superlative show elements. With HORIZONS, we are creating a new world on the ice - it is a tribute to the exciting atmosphere and diversity of the city, which can be felt in every scene."

The new show HORIZONS combines the creative power of HOLIDAY ON ICE with top-class figure skating, breathtaking acrobatics and an innovative, technically sophisticated performance. The dynamic and freely movable stage set is constantly being transformed into new scenery and is actively used by the performers. At the same time, it allows the audience to visually immerse themselves in the various dimensions of the city. On the ice, the perspective expands from lively street scenes to the sheer endless expanses and horizons of glittering skyscrapers. Through spectacular course interludes and the interaction of the figure skaters with the stage set, all elements merge into an impressive overall picture at the end.

HORIZONS - THE CREATIVE TEAM

A renowned creative team is working on the realization of the show and is doing everything in its power to amaze the audience once again this season. The idea for HORIZONS came from creative director Robin Cousins. He has already worked as choreographer and creative director for the successful HOLIDAY ON ICE shows SUPERNOVA and ATLANTIS in recent years. Robin Cousins, who celebrated great success as a figure skating legend and Olympic champion, has worked as a director and choreographer for various productions such as "The Wizard of Oz on Ice" and Andrew Lloyd-Webber's "Starlight Express on Ice".

This time he will be supported by Mark Naylor, who is responsible for the choreography of the new show. Naylor was also involved in previous HOLIDAY ON ICE productions and is now returning as choreographer for HORIZONS. The impressive costume design is in the hands of Michael Sharp, a renowned designer who has worked for stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, One Direction and Jessie J. Chris Moylan will be responsible for the extraordinary lighting concept as lighting designer, while the stage design will be created by the StuFish design team, which has already worked for Beyoncé, Madonna, Adele and the Coachella Festival.
